Reflexology as mention in the treatments page is a treatment that uses zone therapy to alleviate symptoms improve blood flow and relieve pain. This treatment can be done on both the hands and feet however in some cases, the feet are more effective.

Please note: Even though you would be receiving a reflexology treatment, you would be partially receiving Reiki during treatment because I am Master Reiki practitioner and the Reiki would enter your body even if I am not focusing it to. There is nothing wrong with this and this makes your reflexology treatment all the better. If you would like to know more please contact me.

Reflexology is not without its limitations though. Before receiving treatment in reflexology there is a list given to the patients to look through and identify what is known as "contraindications" for which there are 3 categories. Localised, Medical and Total.

Localised contraindications: The therapist/practitioner would make a note of the following areas which cannot be touched but would still proceed with treatment avoiding those areas.

Medical contraindications: The therapist/practitioner needs your doctors approval to proceed with any treatment if you have one of these. However the patient may choose regardless to have treatment and which point the practitioner/therapist must have written consent from the patient.

Total contraindications: In this case treatment should be halted and not proceed but in some cases even despite having a Total contraindication treatment can still be received but only with the patients approval knowing that a Total contraindication may cause you or the practitioner harm, but it is your choice.

Even though this treatment means if you have a "Total contraindication" treatment can be prohibited. There are other treatments that you can have regardless of what is listed above. Energy healing is one of these. Please see my page on Reiki if you have a total contraindication.

Now lets assume you don't have one. Treatment is done sitting down if being treated on the hands and laying down if the feet are being treated.

It is advised that patients wash properly their feet and hands before attending treatment how ever the practitioner will use wipes to clean the feet and hands again should it be needed.

I hope this article has given you a better understanding of reflexology. Please feel free to contact me for any additional information
